Pulse Sports details the three Kenyan athletes set to make their Olympic debuts before the age of 20.
The Paris Olympic Games start this month with track and field action set for August 1 to 11 with some of the greatest track and field athletes set to make their debuts.
The Paris Games are the highlight of this season, with the likes of defending champions Faith Kipyegon, Marcell Jacobs and Andre De Grasse set to descend on the purple track at the Stade de France.
Other athletes will also be debuting at the event, hoping to impress after oozing class in the Diamond League Meetings and the World Championships.

1) Emmanuel Wanyonyi

World 800m silver medallist Emmanuel Wanyonyi will be making his Olympic debut in Paris. Wanyonyi has been in great shape so far this season, posting incredible times and making history.
The highlight of his season will certainly be competing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games where he will be coming up against the best of the best in the 800m.
However, Wanyonyi is also an able athlete in his own right. Just at 19, he is ranked fourth in the list of the top 10 fastest 800m runners of all time. David Rudisha, the world record holder, tops the list.
Wanyonyi won the Kenyan Olympic trials, placing him at a great position to win the title since defending champion Emmanuel Korir will not be competing at the event.
Reynold Cheruiyot

Kenyan youngster Reynold Cheruiyot will be making his debut at the Olympics following his impeccable run at the Olympic trials at the Nyayo National Stadium last month.
The world Under-20 1500m champion was in a class of his own as he destroyed experienced Timothy Cheruiyot to take the crown and seal a ticket to the Olympic Games. As he makes his debut, Reynold will be looking to make an impact on the global stage and hopefully bring back home something great.

The world 3000m steeplechase bronze medallist enjoyed a stellar season in 2023 and she will be looking for nothing different in 2024. Having won a medal, just at 19 and continuing the hot streak to finish in the podium at the Diamond League Meeting final, Cherotich is certainly on the right path to greatness.
She has been tipped to bring back Kenya’s steeplechase to glory and she will begin her campaign at the Olympic Games.
