World champion Mary Moraa wishes her fiancee Richard Lagat a happy birthday with a heartfelt message.
Reigning world 800m champion Mary Moraa has showered the love of her life, Richard Lagat as he celebrates his birthday.
The Commonwealth Games champion shared photos of herself with Lagat on her Facebook page, showering him with praise for being a supportive partner. She added that he has always provided a shoulder to lean on for her, something she never takes for granted.
The 24-year-old further noted that Lagat, a former volleyball player, is always there to hold her hand and wipe her tears on bad days. She singled him out as one of her greatest cheerleaders in her life.

Mary Moraa's cousin, Sarah Moraa bagged Kenya's first gold medal but narrowly missed attaining the time for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with the deadline fast approaching.
“This is the day my king was born. Happy birthday to the Love of my life. I love you so much. In you, I have always had a shoulder to lean on, always ready to wipe my tears and to cheer me up every day. Have a nice day dear,” Moraa shared.

Moraa has not shied away from speaking highly of her fiancée, who proposed to her last year after she jetted back to the country from the Prefontaine Classic, the Diamond League Meeting in Eugene. The proposal happened at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport when she had just landed.
In a past interview on Citizen TV, Kisii Express explained that Lagat has massively helped her and has been a great adviser in her career.
“Everything has been okay on our side and he has been giving me support together with my coach, Alex Sang,” Moraa said.
"We have been supporting each other because he is a volleyball coach and I’m an athlete so maybe when I need some advice I usually talk to him. He has been supporting me a lot.”
