Noah Lyles produced an impeccable performance to win his first 100m world title in a thrilling final at the World Championships in Budapest.

In a keenly contested men's 100m final, Noah Lyles reigned supreme to win his first 100m world title in a massive world lead and Personal Best (PB) of 9.83s at the World Championships in Budapest.

Lyles obliterated the field with his top-end speed in the last 30m, leaving the next three finishers in a photo finish to patiently wait for the remaining medal spots.

Botswana's youngster Letsile Tebogo proved why he is the future as held on with a good start and finished strong for the silver medal in a National Record (NR) and PB of 9.88s, becoming Africa's fist world medallist in the men's 100m, while Great Britain's Zharnel Hughes settled for the bronze medal in an equal 9.88s.

Jamaica's Oblique Seville sadly missed out on a podium placement, having run an identical 9.88s, but was separated by their reaction times of (.873, .874, and .877) respectively.

Lyles's victory ensured the world title remained in the USA, following defending champion Fred Kerley's failure to make the final.

He will now focus on doing the double in the 200m but will have Tebogo on his heels trying to stop the iconic feat as both have equal chances of grabbing the gold medal.
