Paris Olympian Ackeem Blake won his first Diamond League title against defending champion Christian Coleman in Brussels.
Jamaican speedster Ackeem Blake ran a solid race to defeat Christian Coleman and claim his first Diamond League title in Brussels.
With a perfect start, Blake powered through by maintaining his form to cross the finish line first in 9.93s, thus capping off his season in style after a disappointing outing at the Paris Olympic Games, where he failed to make it past the semifinals.
The 22-year-old overcame the challenge posed by Coleman, who settled for second in 10.00s, edging his fellow American and Olympic bronze medallist Fred Kerley to third in 10.01s.
Blake's performance proved why he's still one of the best young sprinters in the world and one to watch out for next season, while for Coleman, the 2023 season was one to forget despite winning the world indoor title back in March, he'll aim to make a huge comeback next year.
