Day Two of the African Games was a stern test for Team Kenya who managed to win only silver and bronze medals at the continental showpiece.
The second day of the African Games saw Kenyans impress with silver and bronze medals but there was no gold medal yet to be known by the athletics powerhouse.
The women’s high jump was the first final of the day and it saw the first Kenyan, Zeddy Jesire finish fifth after leaping 1.70m. The women’s 100m was next in line but there was no Kenyan who had made it to the final hence there was no impressive performance in the short distance.
The same occurrence happened in the men’s 100m where no Kenyan made it to the final. In the men’s decathlon, a Kenyan, Edwin Too managed to bag a bronze medal after digging deep for the podium finish.
