NCAA Alaba Akintola targets sprint title defense at C-USA Championships

At the C-USA Championships this weekend, Alaba Akintola will target defending his sprint titles to continue his dominance.

The most dominant sprinter in the C-USA circuit, Alaba Akintola, will target defending his 100m and 200m titles at the C-USA Championships this weekend.

Akintola had a record-breaking Freshman year at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) last year, winning the indoor 60m and 200m titles and the outdoor 100m and 200m titles at the C-USA Championships.

He also broke the School Record (SR) in these events several times, making him the best sprinter in the school's history.

Akintola will be gunning to have the same outstanding performances this time after successfully defending his indoor titles. He will target doing the same outdoors to extend his dominance in the C-USA circuit.

His teammates also listed to compete are Stephen Eloji in the 110m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles, 4x100m, and 4x400m, while Benjamin Onyekwelu will compete in the long jump.

The women's events will feature teammate Esther Isa in the high jump, long jump, triple jump, and 4x100m, and Glory Nyenke is set for the 400m.

Oghenekaro Brume of University of Texas El Paso will line up in the 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m.

Bashiru Abdullahi of the University of California San Antonio is listed in the 110m Hurdles, while Karlington Anunagba will double in the sprints and 4x100m.
