Athletics Kenya will host the trials for the Africa Under 18 and 20 Championships on Friday 24 to Saturday 25 March at the Nyayo National Stadium.
The event will be used to select a formidable team of athletes who will represent the country at the continental show scheduled for April 29 to May 3 in Lusaka, Zambia.
The event also comes as good news to athletes as it has been registered as a World Athletics ranking competition and will also feature on the international association's global calendar.
It was noted that for the Under-18 category, all athletes who were born in 2006 or 2007 were eligible to participate while for the under-20, any athlete born in 2004 or 2005 would be allowed to take part in the event.
There will also be a vetting process done on athletes before they participate. AK advised the athletes to present their original birth certificates and valid passports or national identification cards to the panel.
