In what is billed as a battle of the titans, the 5000m Monaco Diamond League set for July 21 at the Stade Louis II Stadium will pit Uganda's Olympic bronze medallist Jacob Kiplimo against 2021 Wanda Diamond League champion Berihu Aregawi.

In a star-studded race, Kiplimo will face tough competition from renowned athletes such as Yomif Kajelcha, Bekele Telehu (Ethiopia), Ahmed Muhammad (Canada), and Kenya's Martin Kimeli.

However, the spotlight is on Kiplimo and Ethiopian stars Aregawi and Kajelcha, who have posted impressive times this season.

Aregawi has posted the fastest time this year, with Kiplimo and Kajelcha closely following.
