A star studded field will compete in the women's 60m at the Continental Tour Gold in Boston, featuring two reigning World Champions, the current 60m world leader, and US 100m champion.
The women's 60m start list at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix is composed of star-studded names expected to blaze the track when they compete this weekend, February 4.
Four star-athletes in Sharicka Jackson, Melissa Jefferson, Aleia Hobbs, and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone are listed to compete for a famous win and the grand prize.
Sharicka Jackson
Jackson is the 2022 World Champion in the 200m and a silver medallist in the 100m. The Jamaican will make her season debut in Boston, tipped as one of the favourites for the win.
She has a 60m Personal Best (PB) of 7.04s set last year at the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade, where she finished sixth in the final.
Aleia Hobbs
Hobbs ran a fantastic 6.98s to win the 60m final at the Razorback Invitational last week.
The American first smashed her PB in the qualifying heat clocking 7.02s, before lowering it in the final, showing she may be in the best shape of her life.
Her time is the current world lead, so the spotlight will be on her to see how fast she'll go when she lines up this weekend.
Melissa Jefferson
Jefferson is the second American on the list and has all it takes to pull an upset on the rest of the field.
She is the reigning NCAA 60m champion and US 100m champion but decided to forfeit her college scholarship and sign a professional contract with Nike.
The speedster will be aiming for her first professional win against the big names in the event to kick-start her 2023 season.
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone
McLaughlin-Levrone will make her season debut, as well as run the 60m for the first time in her career.
The 400m Hurdles World Record (WR) holder may not be the favourite on paper to win amongst the four. However, considering how well she has faired in sprints races in the past, she perhaps has a shot at crossing the finish line first.
