Athletics Kenya have announced the series of cross-country events happening this weekend.

Athletics Kenya has released the edited calendar of events and athletes and cross-country enthusiasts will be treated to thrilling shows following the action-packed weekend.

The series of events starts with the Kenya Defense Forces Cross-Country on Friday, January 20 happening at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.

Reigning New York City Marathon Hellen Obiri and former World Half Marathon record holder Kibiwott Kandie took the top prizes in last year’s events. It was Obiri’s sixth victory at the event but she is yet to confirm participation in this year’s event after finishing second at the Aramco Houston Half Marathon last weekend.

Kandie had quite a mixed season last year where he suffered an injury setback forcing him to miss out on the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. He opened his season at the Xiamen Marathon but failed to finish the race.
