Beatrice Chebet hopes to replicate Vivian Cheruiyot's prowess at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympics as she makes her Olympic debut at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Beatrice Chebet will be going for a rare double at the Olympic Games, competing in the women’s 5000m and 10,000m.
Chebet will be debuting on the Olympic stage and all eyes will be on her following her impeccable form this season. She defended her world cross-country title earlier this year and extended the hot streak to the Diamond League Meeting in Eugene.
The Prefontaine Classic was used as trials for the 10,000m for Athletics Kenya with Chebet stealing the show with a world record. The race was only her second over the 25-lap race and she managed to pull a surprise.

NOC-K president Paul Tergat has predicted five track events where Kenya will win gold medals at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
She became the first woman to break the 29-minute barrier, clocking a stunning 28:54.14 to win the race ahead of Gudaf Tsegay.

After her world record exploits, she raced only once at the Kenyan Olympic trials, in the 5000m where she finished second behind Faith Kipyegon, who will be challenging her in the 5000m.
In the women’s 10,000m, Lilian Kasait Rengeruk will also be in the mix, after clocking a stunning 29:26.89 at the Prefontaine Classic.
Also in the race will be Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands who will be attempting to compete in the 1500m, 5000m, 10,000m and marathon. Hassan is always full of surprises and she will be out to make an impact on the Olympic stage.

Faith Kipyegon cools more world records talk as she reveals 'number one' target for Paris 2024 Olympics
Kipyegon will be racing in both the 1500 and 5000m races at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
In the women’s 5000m, Chebet will face off against Hassan and Kipyegon with Tsegay also in the mix. The Ethiopian will be out to revenge after missing the world record at the Prefontaine Classic.
Kipyegon who pipped Hassan and Chebet to win the 5000m at last year’s World Championships in Budapest, Hungary will also be going for top honours with an aim of writing history in the 1500m.
The three-time world 1500m has been impressive this season, striking a world record at the Paris Diamond League and she heads to Paris in high spirits.
As she heads to Paris, Chebet will certainly face tough opposition as she looks to make an impact in her debut. Can she be able to replicate Vivian Cheruiyot’s dominant exploits at the 2012 London Olympics and 2016 Rio Olympics to win medals in both the 5000m and 10,000m?
