With Tokyo World Championships in sight, Christian Coleman is in line to match one of Usain Bolt's records.

Only a few athletes were privileged to race alongside the legendary Usain Bolt. Christian Coleman did that, defeated him twice, and is now one win away from matching one of his records.

In a new stat revealed, should the 60m world record holder make the US team to the World Championships in Tokyo this summer, and end up medalling in the 4x100m relay event, he'll join Bolt as the only male athlete with the most medals (5) in the championship history.

Christian Coleman raced and defeated Usain Bolt twice at the 2017 World Championships in London

Currently, Coleman is on the same level as Nesta Carter and Marlon Devonish, each on four.

Bolt's medals were won in Osaka 2007 (silver), Berlin 2009 (Gold), Daegu 2011 (Gold), Moscow 2013 (Gold), and Beijing 2015 (Gold). Meanwhile, Coleman's medals are: London 2017 (Silver), Doha 2019 (Silver), Oregon 2022 (Gold), and Budapest 2023 (Gold).

Despite the comparison, it doesn't change the fact that Bolt remains the greatest sprinter in history and there will always be future possibilities in matching or surpassing his medal collections and records. But his legacy will forever be etched in the history books.
