American sprinter Christian Coleman wins the 100m at the Diamond League, outpacing Fred Kerley and Yohan Blake in Xiamen, China.

American sprinter Christian Coleman powered to victory in the men's 100 meters at the Diamond League opener in Xiamen, China outpacing former world champion Fred Kerley.

Coleman, who is known for his explosive starts, did not disappoint as he clocked an impressive 10.13 seconds, leaving former world champion Fred Kerley and other competitors trailing in his wake.

Kerley secured second place with a time of 10.17 seconds, while Ackeem Blake, another crowd favorite, completed the podium, finishing in 10.20 seconds.

Yohan Blake, who holds the title of the third fastest man in the world, experienced a surprising setback, finishing ninth with a time of 10.43 seconds.

Despite his slower performance, Blake's presence added to the high-profile nature of the race, underscoring the deep field of talent that the Diamond League attracts.

In the field events, Pedro Pablo Pichardo of Portugal continued to dominate in the triple jump.

Pichardo, who has been a consistent performer in recent years, defended his lead with a remarkable final jump of 17.51 meters.

He was followed by Hugues Fabrice Zango, who landed a jump of 17.12 meters, and local star Su Wen, who delighted the home crowd by securing third place.

Meanwhile, in the 110 meters hurdles, American Daniel Roberts turned heads with a commanding performance.

Roberts, capitalizing on a faltering start by Jamaican Hansle Parchment, seized control of the race early and sprinted to a finish of 13.11 seconds.

This victory marked his first Diamond League win since 2019 signaling a significant return to form for the hurdler.
