ATHLETICS Nairobi City Marathon race organisers expect a turn out of more than 10,000 runners
Korir revealed that they have already registered more than 8,000 athletes as of now.
He also urged the athletes to keep the focus and work hard in training and eventually, the effort will pay off well.
“For a person who will be competing in this marathon (Nairobi City Marathon), they need to maintain focus and keep practicing. You can’t train overnight and expect to yield good results…that’s impossible. You need to gain experience slowly and ensure that you have the mileage,” he said.
The 2022 Frankfurt Marathon also praised the marathon course and noted that it is not that tough. He also shared that what propelled him to victory during last year’s race was where he does his training.
“The course was good…many people didn’t know much about this race and their focus was on the Eldoret City Marathon.
Something that helped me a lot was that I train on a hilly ground and also the altitude of my training area is a bit higher than in Nairobi,” he said.
Misoi opened his season with a 13th-place finish at the Tokyo Marathon and he revealed that he was battling an injury at the time. Since then, he noted that he has been training with the hope of defending his title.
