Elaine Thompson-Herah has an opportunity to end the season on a high with a trophy in sight, if she wins the Brussels Diamond League.
Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah will be gunning to qualify for the Diamond League final in Eugene, when she races in Brussels on Friday, September 8.
The Brussels Diamond League is the last meet before the final at the Prefontaine Classic, giving athletes yet to have enough points for guaranteed spots the opportunity to compete and perhaps achieve it.
Thompson-Herah is listed to race in the women's 100m event, where she'll be aiming for a deserved win with maximum points to qualify her for Eugene.
The Jamaican track star, having had a rough patch this season that sadly saw her not make the individual team to the World Championships in Budapest, bounced back to winning ways last week at the Galà dei Castelli meet in Switzerland.

'I was in tears for two weeks' - Elaine Thompson-Herah opens up on missing individual spot to Budapest
In a post-race interview after the Zurich Diamond League, Elaine Thompson-Herah shared her experience not making the individual Jamaican team to the World Championships in Budapest.
There, she clocked her first sub-11s of the season to win the women's 100m event, blazing to a fast 10.92s (0.0), ahead of Great Britain's Imani Lansiquot, who sped to her a Personal Best (PB) of 10.99s, while Gambia's Gina Bass was third in 11.12s.
With the victory, Thompson-Herah's looked comfortable to be almost back to her best and stands as the favourite to win the race in Brussels.

BOOM! Elaine Thompson-Herah blazes to her first sub-11s of the season, clocks 10.92s
World's fastest woman alive Elaine Thompson-Herah outclassed a respectable field, storming to her first sub-11s of the 2023 season in Switzerland.
However, she will have a respectable field to overcome in Great Britain's Dina Asher-Smith, compatriot Natasha Morrison, who edged her to a second-place finish in Zurich, Gambia's Gina Bass, and USA's Tamara Clark, New Zealand's Zoe Hobbs, another compatriot Sashalee Forbes, and homegirl Rani Rosius.
If she wins the race and makes the trip to the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Thompson-Herah will face Sha'Carri Richardson, aiming to defeat the world champion and end the season on a high with a Diamond League trophy.
