ATHLETICS Zablon Ekwam frustrated with neglect from government after shattering African record
Zablon Ekwam has expressed his anger after the African record they shattered at the World Indoor Championships received no recognition from the government.
“The feeling is surreal, I must say honestly. Most times, some kids would say, ‘Okay, you are an Olympic champion, a two-time Olympic champion’, and so for me to know that I am an Olympic champion and going for my third one, I think it is a wonderful feeling to know that,” Thompson-Herah said as per the Jamaica Observer.

Thompson-Herah admitted that it will take a lot of hard work and dedication if she seeks to go and achieve her three-peat sprint double ambition.

Jamaican youngsters Ackeem Blake and Oblique Seville will be up against Great Britain's fastest man at the Velocity Fest 14 scheduled for Saturday.
“Training has been good thus far, as everything is on track. My main goal is to stay focused and healthy, and there is always tunnel vision. No pressure. Just continue to be me and just get in the races and qualify, of course, for the Olympics.
“It would mean a lot to me, honestly, to have a three-peat. I would be the first woman to do that, and I would again create history. So my main goal is to just continue to stay focused and to focus on the bigger prize,” Thompson-Herah said.
