The program has the same vision as the Eliud Kipchoge Foundation, hence him being a perfect fit for the brand ambassador.

World marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge has inked a deal with the Mozilla Corporation to promote education among underprivileged communities.

The project named Mozilla Africa Mradi Program, is aimed at communities that have limited or no access to the internet and will provide educational materials to Kenyan youth.

The program has the same vision as the Eliud Kipchoge Foundation, hence him being a perfect fit for the brand ambassador.

“My foundation works in areas of health, environment, and education. We have set up a library in Nandi County where we have equipped books that our local youth can access.

"Mozilla will play a big role by introducing a pocket hub. This will enable the whole community to get information even without access to the internet in their houses,” he said.

Mozilla’s Chief Marketing Officer Lindsey O'Brien noted that Kipchoge was suited for the role since he is also passionate about education.

“When you think about education which I know is a huge passion of his, accessibility is such a big part of that. You need to have access to all the tools that everyone else has all over the world,” she said.

Pocket, previously known as Read It Later, is Mozilla’s social bookmarking service for storing, sharing, and discovering web bookmarks.

The tool provides offline access to curated and personalised learning materials. This will be useful in areas with limited internet access and in promoting access to educational materials for our youths.
