“The obvious reason was an injury, I’ve been having injuries since March and I have done my best. I went to Germany and the USA among other countries with the hope of seeking proper medication.
"I’m recovering just ready for the Olympics next year…that’s my focus now,” he said in a post-race interview.
Korir opened his track season at the Diamond League Meeting in Rabat where he finished eighth before proceeding to the Meeting in Paris, France, only to finish 10th.
