With Trayvon Bromell announcing his return for the indoor season next year, perhaps it's the end of Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman in the men's 60m event?

Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman's rivalry and dominance in the 60m event is set to have a fresh twist following the return of 2016 world indoor champion Travon Bromell for the 2025 season.

The American speedster is one of the fastest men in history with a massive 100m personal best of 9.76s (joint sixth-fastest all time) and 60m best of 6.42s (joint sixth-fastest all time).

Sadly, consistent years of injuries have plagued injuries have derailed his opportunities to fulfill his maximum potential. However, the 29-year-old has promised to return next year to take back his 60m title at the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing.

"I haven't taken indoors seriously since 2016. 2025 my goal is to make this team and bring back another title! Looking forward to the grind and the challenge. With God all is possible and no man can close the door that God has opened," wrote Bromell in the caption to his Instagram post.

Since 2016, Coleman has risen to the top as the fastest 60m runner in history, having clocked the world record of 6.34s in 2018 and won the world title the same year.

He settled for the silver medal in 2022 but regained his throne at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow this year, defeating Lyles in the process who's massively on the rise in the event despite being a dominant 100m and 200m sprinter.

With the return of Bromell, an experienced and established sprinter, track fans can anticipate mouthwatering clashes and big talks between the trio ahead of and at the championships in Nanjing.

Bromell has a brilliant career resume highlighted by winning 100m bronze medals at the 2015 and 2022 World Championships respectively. In addition to being the 2016 world indoor champion, he represented the United States at the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Bromell became the first U20 athlete to break the 10-second barrier in the 100 meters with a time of 9.97s, which stood as a then-world junior record.
