Olympian Enoch Adegoke will open his 2024 season in Nigeria, as well as some other elite home-based athletes.
Tokyo Olympics 100m finalist Enoch Adegoke tops the elite list of athletes registered for the 2024 Dynamic Athletics Outdoor Meet on January 27, 2024, at the Nigerian Navy Sports Complex in Ojo, Lagos.
Adegoke made history in 2021 as the first Nigerian man in 25 years to run the 100m final at the Olympics after Davidson Ezinwa in 1996.
With the Paris Olympics taking place this summer, the 22-year-old will seek to begin his 2024 season on a brilliant note and hope to repeat the roller coaster ride he had in 2021 by qualifying and competing at the Games again.
Also confirmed for the meet is another Olympian Ifeanyi Ojeli, a specialist in the 400m, and African Games relay medalist Sikiru Adeyemi.
Reigning Nigeria's fastest woman, Blessing Ogundiran will also be at the Nigerian Navy Sports Complex, as well as veteran quarter-miler Patience Okon George, who will be seeking to make her third appearance at the Olympics.
