Youngster Erriyon Knighton has maintained his innocence after his provisional suspension was lifted, explaining that he has always been a clean athlete.
Former world 200m bronze medallist Erriyon Knighton has opened up about his positive test for a metabolite of trenbolone during an out-of-competition drug test.
The youngster was then provisionally suspended on April 12, the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) but an independent arbitrator concluded that the substance likely entered his system through contaminated meat.
That meant that his provisional suspension was immediately lifted and he was cleared to compete at the US Olympic trials.

Erriyon Knighton: Why American sprinter escaped doping ban despite failed drug test
US sprinter Erriyon Knighton will not be serving a doping ban after testing positive for a prohibited substance due to consumption of contaminated meat.
Speaking about the same, Knighton explained that he knew he was not at fault and knew his time to go back and compete would come.
“In my heart, I knew I never did anything wrong and I have always been a good athlete. I’m a clean athlete and I knew I was going to be able to run. Really nothing in particular…I know I never did anything wrong,” he said.
