Ezekiel Nathaniel ran a tactical race to finish third in the men's 400m Hurdles at the NCAA Championships.
Nigeria's Ezekiel Nathaniel was a standout performer for Baylor University at the NCAA Championships.
Nathaniel won his first individual 400m Hurdles medal with a time of 48.54s, his third-fastest career time and second-fastest this year.
By doing this, he upgraded from his fourth-place finish last season, earning him his first top-three podium finish at the NCAA Champioship.
Ezekiel is the Nigerian record holder in the event at 48.42s, and his fastest time of 48.52s clocked while winning a silver medal at the BIG 12 Championships has already qualified him for the World Championships in Budapest.
The 19-year-old also helped his team finish sixth in the 4x400m relays in a time of 3:01.63.
