Femke Bold brought the baton home for Netherlands in the women's 4x400m final, making World Championships history for her country.

Dutch track star Femke Bol ran an incredible anchor leg in the women's 4x400m final to hand Netherlands their first gold medal in the event in World Championships history.

The Dutch team of Eveline Saalberg, Lieke Klaver, and Cathelijn Peeters handed the baton to Bol in third position behind Jamaica and Great Britain's anchor leg runners, but she ran like a speed train in the last 50m to bring the baton home in a world-leading 3:20.72.

Jamaica's quartet of Candice Mcleod, Janieve Russel, Nickisha Pryce, and Stacy Ann Williams settled for the silver medal in 3:20.88, while Great Britain's quartet of Laivia Nielsen, Amber Anning, Ama Pipi, and Nicole Yeargin were third in 3:21.04

Bol bringing the baton home for the Netherlands is her second gold medal of the championship, having won the women's 400m Hurdles title.
