Favour Ashe: Nigerian sprint sensation arrested on allegations of theft and fraud worth $9,000

Former Nigerian champion Favour Ashe has been arrested on allegations of theft and fraud worth N13 MILLION.

Nigeria's sprint sensation and Auburn University standout athlete, Favour Ashe has been arrested in the US on allegations of multiple counts of theft and fraud.

Ashe, who blazed to a brilliant 6.53s in the 60m event to kick off his 2024 season, is highly rated as one of the best sprinters for the future.

According to news.yahoo.com, the 21-year-old was charged with four counts of fraudulent use of a debit/credit card and two counts of third-degree theft of property.

On Feb. 4, police received a report that multiple items were stolen from a purse near the 100 block of West Magnolia Avenue. One of the items was a credit card. Later, police say the victim found several fraud charges were made using the stolen card.

He became a suspect and turned himself in after warrants for his arrest were obtained. Ashe has been in custody in obedience to those warrants and was taken to Lee County Jail, where he’s being held on a $9,000 bond.

As a student of Auburn University, Ashe has won several college medals and is one of the best sprinters in the NCAA, regarded a star for the next generation.

This isn't the first time that a Nigerian athlete has been arrested on criminal charges, as there have been a few cases before now.
