Omanyala's partnership with the car manufacturer is now official, which will help boost him financially as he prepares to make history at this year's Olympic Games.

Africa’s 100m record holder Ferdinand Omanyala has officially sealed his partnership with a car manufacturer ahead of the upcoming World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally championships set to take place in Naivasha at the end of the month.

In December, Omanyala had a four-year ambassadorial deal with CFAO Motors Kenya (formerly Toyota Kenya) to promote their Toyota Hilux Double Cab pickup and wasted no time in popularising the brand.

He officially completed the terms of the deal and even took official photos while holding a dummy car key to symbolise the start of the deal, which will generate the funds he needs as he prepares for a successful outdoor season.

CFAO (Corporation For Africa & Overseas) Motors Kenya pledged a Ksh30 million contribution to support this year's WRC Safari Rally with the unveiling event attended by Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba.

“I'm thrilled to officially announce my partnership with Toyota by CFAO,” Omanyala wrote on his social media pages.

“I had an inspiring discussion with the team today during the WRC cheque handover, exploring exciting collaborations ahead. I can't wait to kick off with the upcoming rally. Stay tuned, folks!"

Omanyala has gained a high affinity with brands since his emergence onto the scene as one of the world’s top sprinters.

He had a deal with a local betting firm and currently also promotes Adidas, Aids Health Foundation, and Visa among others.

Speaking to National Olympics Committee last month, Omanyala revealed how his 2024 season is now well taken care of thanks to his sponsors.

“These are companies that believe in me and are walking with me through this journey to the Olympics,” he said.

“Glad that Toyota and Visa are part of Olympic partners so I’m excited because in that (Olympics) village, I will have different places to sit. I will have a Visa, Toyota and Adidas house.

“Having sponsors on board, making sure my year will be good, no issues with travel again because now, we have the money to move around with my team.”

The 28-year-old has started the season on a promising note and he hopes to build on that ahead of upcoming assignments including the Olympic Games in Paris, France, where he will be hoping to achieve a podium finish.
