At the ASA Grand Prix 2 in South Africa, Ferdinand Omanyala showed why he remains one of the world's fastest men, sprinting to an impressive 100m victory.

Africa's fastest man in history Ferdinand Omanyala bounced back to winning ways in style after clocking an impressive Season's Best (SB) time at the ASA Grand Prix 2 in South Africa.

Despite having a poor start, the Kenyan sprint icon regrouped in the last 60m of the race as he powered to the finish line in a new SB of 10.08s (0.8m/s).

South Africa's duo of Tsebo Matsoso and Bradley Nkoana finished second and third in respective 10.12s and 10.16s.

The victory is Omanyala's first of the season, having clocked 10.22s to place third in his first 100m race at the first edition of the Prix on March 12th.

Omanyala's impressive performance of running a new SB will surely serve as a confidence booster to build on as the season progresses and lower his time to more brilliant marks, with full focus on qualifying and perhaps winning a medal at the Tokyo World Championships in September.
