Omanyala went into the Paris Olympics as the fastest man this year with 9.79 seconds
Ferdinand Omanyala the Africa and Commonwealth Games 100 metres has spoken for the first time after his disappointing exit at the Paris Olympic Games.
Omanyala assured Kenyans that that was not the end of him after being outrun at the semi-final stage at the Olympics.
"Whatever you are facing now, it is no the end of your story. Gosd is with you and will always be. Thank you to everyone who belived that the Kenyam sprint story will never be the same again".
Omanyala finished 8th in 10.08 seconds in the semi-final, the same amount of time he took to win in the heat rounds that took him to the semi-final.
The final that Omanyala missed out on was bagged by American Noah Lyles after finishing the race in 9.79 second.
He was followed by Jamaican Kishane Thompson and Fred Kerley who clocked 9.79 and 9.81 seconds respectively.
As Omanyala says, this will not be his end as he still has time left in his career and energy left in him to keep flying the Kenyan flag in sprint competitions.
