“We shall see what God will give us but I’m hopeful of running a sub-10. I was expecting a sub-10 today (Friday) but the weather was not on my side,” he said after the race.
He added that his main focus at the moment is the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary where he expects to be the first African to win a medal in the 100m at the global showpiece.
He revealed that he will be heading to the Diamond League Meeting in Monaco as he builds up to the global event.
“My body feels great now courtesy of the international tours and I feel ready to go for the World Champs. We are in the same position with our opponents in the USA and I feel like there is no competition,” bullish Omanyala said.
