Ferdinand Omanyala’s younger brother, Isaac Omurwa, has shared some tips he uses to get over frustrations that he is bound to face as a track athlete.
Recently, he failed to make the cut to the African Games national team after finishing fourth in the 100m. He also missed an opportunity to represent Team Kenya at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary after faltering during the trials.
However, the 19-year-old, who turns 20 in April, has grasped a way of managing those frustrations and using them to fuel himself for greater heights.

“After the disappointment, we just forget and move forward and now I’m training for the trials for the World relays…I think it will be next month also," Omurwa said.
“The race was good and I want to congratulate those who made the team, Hesborn and Onyango and they were the better ones on that day."
The youngster will also be keen to make the cut to the World Relays team alongside his brother, saying it would be great for the family.

Race organisers have announced the millions set aside for top 12 finishers at the New York City Half Marathon coming up this Sunday.
He acknowledges the tough competition in the 100m at the moment but is counting on his training and efforts to put him in good stead.
“I hope to make the team because now, the 100m is very competitive and you have to work extra hard to finish among the top six since those are the ones who will be chosen for the World relays," he added.
“My hope is to be in the team with him but I have to work hard because he [Omanyala] can’t run for me."
