She made her first appearance at the Boston Marathon and finished a disappointing 12th.

Former women’s world half marathon record holder Joyciline Jepkosgei will be competing at the AJC Peachtree 10km road race on July 4 for the first time since 2019.

The 2019 New York City Marathon champion will also be competing in the streets of Atlanta for the first time. She has had a mixed start to her season and will be hoping for a better outing as she prepares to face a stern test.

She finished second at the Barcelona Half Marathon, the best performance she has displayed since the season started. She finished fifth at the just-concluded Kenya Defense Forces Championships where she was testing herself on the track after a long break. She made her first appearance at the Boston Marathon and finished a disappointing 12th.

The 2021 London Marathon will enjoy the company of compatriot Sheila Chepkirui, who has had a fairly great season. Chepkirui finished second at the National Cross-country Championships earlier this year before winning the Paris Half Marathon in a new course record.

She finished an impressive fourth at the London Marathon, her second marathon since she made her debut over the distance last year. She then finished third in the 10,000m at the Kenya Defense Forces Championships. The two Kenyan ladies are the only ones confirmed so far.

Defending champion Senbere Teferi of Ethiopia will also be returning to the streets of Atlanta with the plot to retain her title. She has had a great season, achieving a podium finish in the two races she has so far participated in.

She finished second at both the New York City Half Marathon and the Adizero Road to Records in the 5km.
