Kipruto tied the knot with his partner Jacky in a glamorous traditional wedding in Nandi county on Friday.

Known as Koito, the traditional wedding involves the groom officially meeting the parents of the bride and asking for her hand in marriage after which other rites, such as dowry payment, are conducted before the couple receive the blessings of their parents and elders.
After that, the couple is free to live together as husband and wife before they formalise their union through a church wedding.

World Champion Noah Lyles has lauded an 18-year-old Jamaican youngster for winning the prestigious Bowerman Award.
Kipruto’s best men included top athletes such as former world champion Julius Yego and 2019 world 1,500m champion Timothy Cheruiyot while a number of top runners, past and present, graced the occasion.
Four-time world steeplechase champion Ezekiel Kemboi, the man who handed the mantle to Kipruto was among the celebrities who attended the wedding with Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei also present.
Kipruto is a two-time world steeplechase champion, having won gold in the 2017 and 2019, and also won Olympics gold at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
He also clinched silver in the 2013 and 2015 World Championships before a bronze at the 2022 event in Eugene.
Injuries have, however, disrupted him in recent years and forced him out of the 2023 World Championships but he will be hoping to regain his shape in time for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
