Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is reportedly not going to compete at the Kip Keino Classic this weekend due to injury.

A big blow for Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, as her hopes of making her season's debut at the Kip Keino Classic in Kenya this weekend is cut short due to reports of her sustaining an injury in training.

The reigning World champion in the women's 100m was scheduled to compete in her first race of the year in Nairobi in preparation for the defense of her title in Budapest.

According to Kenya's athletics journalist Lynne Wachira, she tweeted: "Injury forces Shelly-Ann out of tomorrow's @KipKeinoClassic."

Fraser-Pryce was supposed to kick off her season at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix on April 29th but withdrew because of a family emergency.

Her long-awaited season debut will now be prolonged and hopefully will be back very soon.

Other top athletes in Kenya include US sensation Sha'Carri Richardson, World silver medallist Kenny Bendnarek, Africa's fastest man, and homeboy Ferdinand Omanyala.
