Fred Kerley has responded to concerns about his beef with reigning Olympic champion Marcel Jacobs.
The 2022 World 100m champion Fred Kerley has addressed his long-time beef with reigning Olympic champion Marcel Jacobs.
During the pre-race press conference ahead of the Diamond League Meeting in Shanghai/Suzhou, China, a journalist asked Kerley about his beef with Jacobs and the American answered that he is no longer worried about the Italian.
After they both exited the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, they are yet to clash. Kerley has already competed in three races, going unbeaten twice and finishing second in the other race.

Noah Lyles predicts athlete to win men's 100m at Suzhou Diamond League
Triple World champion Noah Lyles has predicted the athlete to win the men's 100m race at the Diamond League Meeting in Suzhou.
He opened the season with wins at the Hurricane Invitational and Hurricane Alumni Invitational. The American was then beaten to second place at the Diamond League Meeting in Xiamen with Christian Coleman taking the crown.

Kerley now has focus on the Diamond League Meeting in Suzhou, China, where he intends to bounce back to winning ways. Meanwhile, Jacobs will also be making his season debut this weekend at the East Coast Relays on Saturday 27 April in Jacksonville, Florida.
“I’m not worried about anyone…I’m in my zone and just worried about me. I really don’t care about him,” Kerley answered in a pre-race interview.

The second leg of the Diamond League Meeting is coming up this Saturday in Suzhou, China, and here is a list of three key things you should look out for.
The beef between the duo dates back to early last season when Kerley hit out at Jacobs, saying he fears competing outdoors.
“Indoor is indoor. The real dogs come and play outdoor.” Kerley was then asked if Jacobs is “a real dog.” “I don’t think so. I’m just going to be truthful,” Kerley said.
Jacobs appeared to respond with recent Instagram stories captioned “The lion doesn’t turn around when a small dog barks” and “Easy run today so as not to scare small dogs.”
