“Since the start of the year, I had greater ambitions to be part of the Olympics and it started well when I qualified for the World Cross Country Championships but had to pull out and focus on the London Marathon.
“At first I was in the team of 10 and then when it was cut down I wasn’t named and my plan was to go to London and execute a great race and win but unfortunately I did not manage.
“Now that I’m focusing on the injury, I won’t be able to compete in the trials either in the 5000m or 10,000m and it’s now getting out of hand but I believe there are more years for me to represent the country,” Kamworor said.
He also expressed disappointment towards missing out of the London Marathon due to an injury since he had prepared well and was ready for the competition.
However, the 31-year-old explained that he still has time to compete in the next years and his setbacks have always fueled him to go for greater things. He added that having a great support system has also worked wonders in his healing journey since he has had a lot of injury bouts.
“It was really disappointing to pull out of the London Marathon because for sure I had prepared well and was ready for everything. Little did I know that an injury was coming up a few weeks to the marathon but I had to accept and move.
