Long distance powerhouse, Kenya, swept clean the Under-20 10,000m men's race on the opening day of the ongoing CAA Under 18/20 athletics championships in Ndola, Zambia.
Dennis Mutuku crossed the finish line first ahead of Amos Kipkurui and Samuel Kibathi who placed second and third respectively.

In the men’s under-18 1500m final, another Kenyan, Josphat Sang Kipkurui ran away with the top honours as Ethiopia’s Samtieh Moktar settled for second place. Brian Musau of Kenya sealed the podium.
Over the women’s under-18 1500m final, Nancy Cherop of Kenya flew the country’s flag high as she crossed the finish line first. Aselef Amare of Ethiopia took second place as Joyline Chepkemoi settled for the third place.

The junior team is set to jet out of the country on Thursday, April 26.
The juniors will be hoping to replicate their performance in 2019 where they emerged champions in the under-18 category and settled for second place over the under-20 category.
The championship, which started on Saturday, April 29 is set to run until Wednesday, May 3.
