A recent weather prediction ahead of the Boston Marathon comes off as good news to Hellen Obiri as she seeks to post a faster time and defend her title.

Defending champion Hellen Obiri heads to the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15 with the hope of defending her title which she believes places her in a great position to be selected in the Team Kenya Olympic team ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The reigning New York City Marathon champion has also expressed interest in running faster times and this year’s Boston Marathon is an ideal place for her to achieve her goal.

She will be up against a strong field of her compatriots and Ethiopians but Obiri has proven from time to time that she is the one to watch at the event. In a recent interview with Citius Mag, the two-time World 5000m champion explained that her training has gone well and her body is now used to marathon training.

The weather plays a huge role in how athletes perform and, in this case, the Boston Marathon is one of the few events where the weather is very important when it comes to the impact of an athlete’s performance.

According to the weather forecast for 2024 Boston, the conditions look very good for an athlete to run faster. Letsru.com noted that the temperatures are predicted to be ideal for running fast – 49 at the start and in the low to mid-50s for the entire pro race (high 50s / low 60s for when the amateurs finish).

It is also expected that it will be a cloudy day so the scorching sun will not be a hindrance at the event or slow any athlete down. The wind should also be able to help the athletes since it is expected to be out of the south for basically the entire race and the race course goes from the South West to the North East.
