Gabby Thomas stormed to an exceptional 49.14s to become the seventh-fastest women's 400m runner in US history while claiming $100,000 at the Grand Slam Track in Kingston.

Olympic 200m champion Gabby Thomas rose to the occasion in the women's long sprint at the Grand Slam Track in Kingston, achieving a remarkable Personal Best (PB) of 49.14s to finish second and secure her first Slam victory for a winning prize money of $100,000.

Running the race of her life, the American sprint queen proved her mettle against the world's best 400m runners for second place behind an impeccable Salwa Eid Naser, who produced a jaw-dropping 48.67s performance for the win.

Paris Olympic champion Marileidy Paulinho's undefeated streak in the event since 2023 ended by settling for third in 49.35s.

Following the exceptional performances from the quarter-milers, Thomas walked away as the undisputed Slam queen of the women's long sprint, amassing the needed points to finish top and claim the prize reward.

She accumulated a total of 20 points, winning the 200m on Day 1 in 22.62 seconds, which earned her 12 points, and added 8 points for finishing second in the 400m.

Naser's impressive performance in the 400m secured her 12 points, and her fourth-place finish in the 200m earned her an additional 5 points. This total was enough to place her second overall on the Slam table, allowing her to claim the $90,000 prize.

Paulino finished in third place on the table, accumulating a total of 14 points from both events.
