This year has yielded many good fortunes including winning her first-ever marathon since she debuted at last year’s New York City Marathon. She also successfully managed to relocate her family to Boulder, Colorado.
She has managed to maintain her prowess in all her races so far this season, finishing second in only one competition, the Mastercard New York Mini 10K.

ATHLETICS: Hellen Obiri spoilt for choice as staggering marathon invites fill her mail
The world 10,000m silver medallist has so far only lost one race out of all the races she has competed in this season.
USA’s Keira D’Amato completed the podium after clocking 31:58. Other Kenyans in the race included Vicoty Chepngeno and Edna Kiplagat who finished fourth and fifth in respective times of 31:59 and 32:23.
In the men’s race, Ethiopia’s Addisu Yihune lived up to expectations, being a pre-race favourite took top honours in 27:56.
USA’s Conner Mantz and another Ethiopian, Muktar Edris took the second and third places in respective times of 27:58 and 28:06. Edwin Kurgat was the only Kenyan in the race and he managed a fourth-place finish in 28:15.
