During the New York Jets NFL match played on Monday night, Rodgers got a chance to chat with Obiri and Tamirat Tola, who are just fresh from winning the New York City Marathon.

US-based Kenyan runner Edward Cheserek has disclosed the reason why he chose to train in Kenya ahead of his full marathon debut at the New York City Marathon.
Tola, the Ethiopian, clocked a course record time of 2:04:58 to win the men's race as Obiri clocked 2:27:23 to win the women’s race. Rodgers was stunned by the fact that Obiri won the Boston Marathon earlier this year.
Obiri put up a good fight to clock 2:21:38 and win the race, just in the second marathon of her career. She had made her debut at last year’s New York City Marathon where she finished sixth.
“You won both (New York City and Boston Marathons)?” a surprised Rodgers asked Obiri during their conversation.
When Obiri nodded in agreement, the experienced quarterback answered her saying: “Congratulations.”
