The Jamaican national women's football team the Reggae Girlz qualified for the knockout stage of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, making Usain Bolt congratulate their historic achievement.
Track and Field legend Usain Bolt is excited about the Reggae Girlz qualification to the Round of 16 at the ongoing FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia/New Zealand.
The Jamaican national women's football team also known as the Reggae Girlz, held Brazil scoreless to book their ticket in the knockout stage for the first time in their history.
Having drawn their first match against France, won 2-0 over Panama, and a draw again against Brazil to earn five points in total, they qualified second in their group behind France, and ahead of Brazil and Panama, making history for their country without conceding a goal in the group stage.
Bolt took to his Twitter page to tweet about the historic feat achieved by his country's women's football team.
"History! Congrats girls. #ReggaeGirlz," he tweeted.
The Reggae Girlz have won tons of hearts with their iconic achievement as they needed crowdfunding to help them get to the Women's World Cup due to a lack of support from the Jamaican Football Federation.
They have also grown from having no points in their debut World Cup in 2019 to making history this year.
