Kamworor placed second at this year's London Marathon.
Three-time World Cross-Country champion Geoffrey Kamworor has revealed that patience and hard work are they key virtues that helped him stay positively rooted in the sport despite major setbacks.
He added that having a great team that rallies behind him has also impacted him positively. Kamworor is managed by Global Sports Communication, which is home to many other great athletes including world marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge and two-time Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon.

He is the 12th fastest in the field with a personal best time of 2:05:23.
“The last few years have been challenging for me because of injuries. However, I am happy to be back thanks to my great team. Practicing patience and hard work have also helped me remain rooted,” he said.
Kamworor had been battling a series of injuries in the previous years. Things started off worse for him in June 2020 after being hit by a motorcycle. The injury saw him undergo surgery which forced him to slow down.
The 2019 New York City Marathon champion participated in this year’s London Marathon and managed an impressive second-place finish behind compatriot Kelvin Kiptum.
The race saw him clock a new Personal Best (PB) of 2:04:23. He kickstarted his season at the World Cross-country championships in Bathurst, Australia and finished fourth in the senior men’s race (29:37).

“I am proud to have improved on my PB. I am looking forward to what the future holds for me,” he said.
