Despite online trolls, Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall stay focused on love, training and their ambitious goals.

Tara Davis-Woodhall and her husband Hunter Woodhall remain a beloved power couple in the track and field world but that has not stopped them from facing online trolling.

Recently, the couple found themselves at the center of controversy after Tara’s response to a comment made by Olympic legend Michael Johnson stirred up heated reactions from track fans.

However, the couple’s affection and determination shine through, showing that negativity from critics has not dampened their spirits.

The online backlash began after Michael Johnson remarked:“I am going to save what I think I can save; I think I can save track, but I don’t think I can save track and field.”

Tara Davis-Woodhall, a passionate advocate for her sport, felt compelled to respond as she took to Instagram, stating, “About my sport, it doesn’t need saving at all. It’s actually… Michael, you’re ruining the sport if you’re trying to ‘save’ just track.”

The comment drew ire from some fans, who labeled her response as illogical and unnecessary.

Despite the trolling, the couple has remained focused on their goals and shared moments of gratitude with their supporters.

Hunter Woodhall recently penned a heartfelt message to his wife, showing how little the trolling has affected their bond.

In an Instagram story posted on November 29th, he expressed deep gratitude for Tara and their life together.

“Thankful for getting to live this life with you. Thankful to get home with you. Thankful for the way you love me. Thankful for you,” he wrote.

“I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Safe travels home if you’re on the road.”

This public display of affection reminds fans why the couple has become a symbol of love and resilience.

Their relationship first captured the hearts of many during the Paris Olympics when Tara won gold in the long jump and immediately ran to the stands to embrace Hunter.

Later, when Hunter claimed his own gold medal at the Paralympics, he returned the gesture, rushing to hug his wife. These touching moments solidified their status as one of sports’ most endearing couples.

The couple’s success has not only brought them fame but also fueled their aspirations for the future.

Determined to compete in the 2028 LA Olympics and Paralympics, the Woodhalls recently decided to relocate from Arkansas to Kansas.

The move was influenced by their head coach, Travis Geopert, who took up a new role at Kansas State University.

With their sights set on future gold medals, they chose to follow Geopert to ensure top-tier training.

Their new home in Kansas is already prepared and the couple is eager to begin this new chapter of their lives.
