'I am hurt' - Ivorian track legend Ta Lou-Smith angrily reacts to poor organisation at the African Championships

Marie-Josee Ta Lou-Smith is unhappy with the poor treatment given to her and teammates at the African Championships in Cameroon, which she openly expressed her anger on it.

Track legend Marie-Josee Ta Lou-Smith has expressed her disappointment with the poor organization of the ongoing 23rd African Championships in Cameroon.

The Ivorian speedster is at the championship intending to win her second title since 2018 but has been met with poor planning by the Cameroonian and African athletics authorities.

Expressing her anger on the situation, the fastest woman in African history took to her X page with a series of tweets stating her hurt of being treated unfairly.

"There is so much things I wanted to say about the organization of the African championship !!!," wrote Ta Lou-Smith as her first tweet on the poor organisation.

"I am hurt and disappointed!!!," she continued.

Ta Lou-Smith will then reveal how she was forced to take a local taxi with her team while another country was given police escorts to the stadium.

"My team have to take a yango ( taxi) to go to the stadium because the transportation sucks !!!

"Coming here I had so much expectation !!! So much!!!

"If we want think to change , we need to do better !!! We have now some high level of athletes."

Highly regarded as one of the world's best sprinters and fastest in history, Ta Lou-Smith will be gunning to put the disappointment behind by becoming the 100m and 200m champion, despite having stiff competitors in Gambia's Gina Bass and Nigeria's Favour Ofili as worthy challengers.
