After another magnificent season of dominating the women's 400mH category, World Record (WR) holder Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has finally responded on the possibilities of switching events next season.
The American hurdling queen had another record-breaking 2024 season, which she successfully defended her Olympic title in Paris in a new WR time of 50.37s, thus making it the sixth time in three years she'll smash the record.
In addition, she ran a superb third leg in Team USA's 4x400m gold medal-winning performance as they clocked an American Record of 3:15:27 - the second-fastest time in history.
To prove her dominance and versatility, McLaughlin-Levrone smashed her world 400mH record twice this season (50.65s and 50.37s) and clocked the fourth-fastest 400m time of 48.75s in the world this year.
Aside from the 400mH and 400m, she competed in the 200m in the outdoor season, staying undefeated in all competitions with new lifetime bests and record-breaking performances.
For her exceptional consistency and dominance, McLaughlin-Levrone was named the 2024 World Athletics Female Track Athlete of the Year, pipping Saint Lucia's Olympic golden girl Julien Alfred to the prestigious award.
