Yohan Blake opened up on his challenging 2023 season, struggle with injuries through the years, and plans to make his fourth Olympic Games in Paris.
Yohan Blake has revealed that his best days aren't behind him yet, and he can still spring surprises as he begins preparations for the incoming Olympic year.
Blake, the second fastest man ever in the 100m and 200m with Personal Best times of 9.69s and 19.26s respectively (both behind Usain Bolt's World Records), opened up on his challenging 2023 season, struggle with injuries through the years, and plans to make his fourth Olympic Games in Paris.
In an interview with Leighton Levy for sportsmax.tv, the 2011 World 100m champion bared it all on his chances of making the Jamaican team to the Paris Olympics.
“Not everybody can say they have been to four Olympics. I've gone three already and I'm looking forward to this one being my fourth to be honest, I know I have a lot left with me and I know I can spring some surprises. I am just really focusing on just getting this year to start off on a good level,” said the 2012 double Olympic silver medallist.
The 33-year-old had one of the most challenging seasons of his career this year, after failing to make the Jamaican team to the World Championships in Budapest and not running a sub-10s time.

"I've been consistent, running 10-zeros. I never got the 9s, but I am okay with it," Blake reflected. “I've been doing some revision on the last races, the guys have been pulling away from me from the last 40m, so I'm doing some work on that.”
Working towards his comeback, Blake has left his previous training group Titans International led by Coach Gregory Little and now trains with his former teammate Micheal Frater.

So we're looking to push each other and now some younger ones as well. We’re looking to push each other and as I said this is my last Olympics,” said Blake.
