Multiple world record holder Mondo Duplantis detailed the recipe on his weekly training routine that made him a 'god' in pole vaulting.

Swedish star Armand Mondo Duplatis is arguably the greatest athlete to do the pole vault, having soared to several world record heights and won every major title since 2020.

He was named the 2024 World Athletics Field Athlete of the Year, having retained his Olympic title from Tokyo 2020 with a new world record height of 6.25m, which smashed Thiago Braz's Olympic Record of 6.10m.

Armand Duplantis won the 2023 world title in a world record-breaking time in Budapest

In addition, Duplantis surpassed his world record three times last season, eventually achieving 6.26m to win the Diamond League title in Brussels.

The 25-year-old has been the most domineering athlete in the past four years and rated as one of the greatest in history alongside the legendary Usain Bolt.

Speaking on his weekly training routine, Duplantis gave insights on his behind-the-scenes preparations and the recipe responsible for his success.

"A normal training week for me would be six days a week. I jump once or twice a week as far as technical sessions," said Duplantis in an interview with performance expert Lucas Tailin.

"Mostly, I train like a sprinter, and so I do a lot of sprint training, also a little bit of weight lifting but kind of very quick and explosive stuff trying to become faster basically," he continued.

"I'm a pretty explosive person you know sprinting, I'm always trying to maximize my speed on the runway and I know that the faster I am on the runway, that leads to better heights," he concluded.
