Saint Lucia's golden girl Julien Alfred shared a post that speaks so much of pride and humility for her country.

Olympic champion Julien Alfred has penned a heartfelt message to all Saint Lucians in response to their overwhelming love on return to the country after her historic 2024 season exploits.

Alfred had one of the greatest individual seasons' ever recorded in track history after sweeping all titles available during the year.

By honouring her iconic exploits, the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J. Pierre announced September 27 as “Julien Alfred Day” - a national holiday, after her monumental feat at the Paris Olympic Games, where she became the country's first gold medallist in history by winning the women's 100m event.

In addition, she was named Saint Lucia's Ambassador of Tourism and received several monetary and other rewards.

To show her appreciation for the show of love, Alfred took to her Instagram page to pen an emotional but inspiring message as a proud citizen of Saint Lucia.

"September 26th was truly a special day for me. I’ve always taken much pride in representing my country both on or off the track, but being officially announced as a Tourism Ambassador and being the Tourism Gimie Awardee for 2024, brings me an unwavering amount of joy.

A huge thank you to the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority for allowing this young girl from Ciceron, with a dream to receive such prestigious titles.

No matter where I may roam, I will forever LOVE my island home and represent as a proud Saint Lucian.

LET HER INSPIRE YOU🇱🇨," wrote the 23-year-old.

Alfred's exceptional season saw her scoop all championship titles by becoming the World Indoor Champion, Olympic champion, and Diamond League Champion, thereby dethroning American speed queen Sha'Carri Richardson as the face of women's sprint in 2024 and the most decorated female sprinter of the year.
