He, unfortunately, fizzled out to finish a disappointing seventh and cross the finish line in 10.01.
However, Omanyala still maintained to keep his smile insisting that he has to remain happy since ‘a smile a day adds to his life on earth.’
“I’m always happy…you need to be happy. You only live once and I’m a strong believer that a smile adds a day to your life. That’s what I like and I think my mouth also just loves smiling,” Omanyala said.
At the World Championships, Omanyala started off his campaign on a good note, finishing second behind newly-crowned World Champion Noah Lyles in the Preliminary round. He then proceeded to the semifinal and qualified by a whisker.
The first two qualifiers were automatic but Omanyala finished third and managed to qualify as one of the fastest losers.
