World 60m record holder Christian Coleman believes it isn't just about breaking World Records, but setting a goal at winning.
Former world 100m champion Christian Coleman is unfazed about breaking World Records, which he signifies that it's not about the times.
The American 100m and 200m speedster, who won the 2019 world title and was part of his country's gold-medal winning 4x100m relay team is one of the world's fastest and most recognized athletes.
His Personal Best of 9.76s makes him the sixth-fastest in history and has a respectable 19.85s in the 200m. Interestingly, Coleman is a WR holder, with his blazing 6.34s in the 60m clocked at the US Championships in 2018.

Christian Coleman blazes to a world-leading 9.83s for an impressive victory at Xiamen Diamond League
Christian Coleman stormed to a joint world lead of 9.83s (0.4) in the men's 100m at the Xiamen Diamond League
Despite this, the 27-year-old doesn't believe breaking WRs is a top priority but rather about just winning.
"To me, it’s not about the times. If there’s something to be won, I want to win it. And I don't care what time it takes to win it. I'm trying to go get it, and that’s what track and field is about," said Coleman in an interview with Chris Chavez for Citius Mag Podcast.
He ended the 2023 season as the joint world leader with Noah Lyles at 9.83s, which he clocked to win the Diamond League title, adding to his 2018 trophy.
Coleman has also finished as the world No.1 in the men's 100m for four years in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2023.
