Kishane Thompson and Oblique Seville dropped easy wins in their 100m heats to qualify for the semifinals at the Jamaica Olympic Trials.

Setting things in motion on what to expect in the semifinals and final in the men's 100m event, Kishane Thompson led the list of brilliant performances alongside Oblique Seville in the qualifying heats at the Jamaica Olympic Trials.

Thompson stormed to a jaw-dropping Personal Best (PB) of 9.82s (1.0m/s) to win his heat, finishing ahead of Ackeem Blake who clocked a Season's Best (SB) of 9.95s and Sandrey Davison in 10.00s.

Seville continued his consistency and standout form this season by winning his heat in an easy 9.98s (+0.4m/s). He finished ahead of a brilliant Bryan Levell who ran 10.07s and Jehlani Gordon in 10.09s. Yohan Blake was fifth in 10.21s.

Julian Forte also powered to an SB of 10.00s (+1.0) for victory in his heat, ahead of Rohan Watson in 10.07s, while Tyquendo Tracey was third in 10.10s.

Thompson and Seville's impressive outings place them to dominate their semifinal races and as the top challengers to make the Olympic team, which they'll also be gunning to erase Ferdinand Omanyala's world-leading time of 9.79s as a sound warning to their rivals ahead of Paris.
